1.Why did the author think the U of Chicago test revealed that he was racist? Is he right?
2.Do these tests measure “unconscious” racism? Why do you think so?
3.Why does the author think that sexism may be harder to fight than racism? What research suggests this?
4.Paraphrase this quote: The challenge for women competing in politics or business is less misogyny than unconscious sexism: Americans don’t hate women, but they do frequently stereotype them as warm and friendly, creating a mismatch with the stereotype we hold of leaders as tough and strong.
5. What is the real problem women face according to the author? What do you think?
6. How can this problem be confronted according to the author? What do you think?
- No, each person’s mind works a different way. To test a way of thinking like racism is nearly impossible with one standardized test on the internet. I don’t think the tests reflect your true beliefs very well
- No because they don’t really have a good test to reflect personal beliefs
- Because women are the weaker sex, so we associate women with weaker things. Other races however aren’t associate with strengths and weaknesses
- It is harder for women to be political leaders because they are viewed as weak.
- I think that sexism will outlast racism absolutely. Women, whether we like it or not, will be stereotyped as weaker in most situations.
- The author thinks that it can be confronted with better attitude toward women. I really don’t see America making any strides in this direction however.

When the power of love overcomes the love of power the world will know peace. - Jimi Hendrix I believe that this quote is absolutely true. In the dictionary, love is defined as a profoundly tender, passionate affection for another person. This means that you care for someone deeply and want to see them happy and successful. Love is a bond between one human to another that compels them to support, care and mentor one another. Essentially, love is the strongest relationship anyone can have. If everybody on the planet was compassionate, caring, helpful and supportive of one another, the problems we have now would simply never happen. Starvation, thievery, murder, greed, and other bad attributes of society would simply be nonexistent. The power of love would conquer all of these occurances. Many of the problems we have today are thanks to the many leaders of our past being inconsiderate or obsessed with power. The Cold War made way for the manufacturing of a surplus of nuclear weapons, which now are becoming waste. World War II decimated the population of Jews in Western Europe as well as brought terror, destruction and death to most of Europe. Rampant disease and hunger plague Africa because of Europeans stripping the land of its resources and forcing its people into slavery. All of these problems are a direct result of greed or hunger for power. If These feelings were replaced by love, the world would be peaceful, people would live in harmony with one another and we wouldn’t have nearly the amount of problems we have now. At concerts all over the world, Jimi Hendrix saw tens of thousands of people come together in brotherhood to share an experience with each other at his concerts. Nobody cared about confrontations, greed and war. It was about love, brotherhood, friendship, and enjoying life. If government was like this and the world in general shared this idea of brotherhood, there would be peace. Life’s a garden………dig it
